Three truths about this event:
1. Photographer Audra Marie Dewitt and film artist Dennis Maxwell will be showing the work they created for their respective collaborative projects (issues #1 and #2), so you will have the chance to see the photographs one the walls and the film (through an interactive installation) that you will find in the zines.
2. My music collaborator for issue #3 is Eric Kuhn. He is one-half of the amazing Silian Rail. Silian Rail will be performing an acoustic set at the event, along with select pieces from our birdlovesbee collaboration.
3. The awesomeness that is DJ Shortround (Dirty Talk @ Deco Lounge, Soul Knockout @ Missouri Lounge) will be spinning some tracks before and after the performance. That means we can dance if we want to. Yay.
And of course, copies of the first three limited edition issues will be available for purchase, along with a a specially designed limited edition print for the event. come see, listen, drink, play, dance, and chat with the artists behind this collaborative zine.
much love & see you there,
BIRDLOVESBEE is currently this:
A collaborative art project, documenting the adventures between a writer and other artists who create in various mediums. It is also a love affair with the spirit of craft. Mostly, it’s about what happens when two unlikely worlds collide. It is about the interaction between all different kinds of relationships and experiences.
This is how it works: I create a collection of eleven pieces of my writing, and then hand them off to another artist who creates their reaction to my work in their chosen medium. Then we share these two parts with you. In a hand made zine because I love hand made things. I also personally letterpress sections of the zine on an old 1950s vandercook 4 proof press.
