 The London Zine Symposium brings together zines, small press writers, 
 radical press and comic creators to celebrate DIY and zine culture.\n\
 n\nHeld at: The Rag Factory, Heneage Street, London E1 5LJ\n\nIt's con
 veniently placed just off Brick Lane on Heneage Street, about 400m nor
 th of Rough Trade and the Truman Brewery.\n\n\nstation: Liverpool Stre

 on, interested in fat activism and DIY culture\n\n* Josie Long â€“ sta
 nd up comedian who likes word games and scottish indie bands, writes D
 rawing moustaches in magazines monthly\n\n* Isy Morgenmuffel â€“ anarc
 ha-feminist and author of Morgenmuffel comic zine\n\n* Patrick Staff â
 €“ Patrick from Ricochet! Ricochet! zine\n\nThe readings are being hos
 ted by Melissa of Cherry Bomb Comics and My Mouth, Your Ear.\n\n\n\nCr
 eating our own culture\nA discussion group with zinesters Melanie (Col
 ouring Outside The Lines), Patrick (Ricochet!\nRicochet!), Em (The Wor
 ldâ€™s A Mess & Youâ€™re My Only Cure), and Debi (Self-Publishing and 
 Empowerment)\ntalking about taking the DIY ethos of zine-making and ap
 plying it to becoming creative producers and creative consumers.\n\nTh
 ey will discuss:\n\n* Organising gig and spoken word tours\n\n* Settin
 g up independent gallery spaces\n\n* Forming bands\n\n* Launching own 
 publishing houses\n\n* DIY Book publishing\n\n* Exhibiting art communa
 lly\n\n\nCome and hear how and why they are creating their own cultura
 l environments/cultures/worlds, and discuss how you could too. Feel fr
 ee to bring\nexamples of what youâ€™re up to,\nand/or ideas, plans, an
 d projects that youâ€™d like to put out in to the\nworld\n\n\nArtist T
 rading Cards!\nArt you can put in your pocket.\n\nMake and trade artis
 t trading cards (pieces of art the same size as baseball or Pokemon ca
 rds). All you need to bring is yourself! Weâ€™ll be providing glue, sc
 issors, cardboard, pens etc. If you feel like it\n\nbring your own mag
 azines, newspapers and crafty stuff to use!\n\nA kids comic workshop\n
 ZEEL and Orson OF Melonfarmer zine welcome kids to their MONSTER LABOR
 ATORY â€“ making\nmonsters nice and nice things monstrous. Come along 
 (with your parent or\nguardian) and help us and our friends make drawi
