 ay, the 27th of March, The Upholstery Contemporary Arts will open its 
 first art exhibition/event for 2009, entitled ‘Gutter Trash’.\n\nC
 airns has had a recent spate of zines, street press and random self pu
 blish ramblings, so we thought we'd bring em all together and showcase
  the best, the freakiest and the randoms!\n\nZines are generally small
 , artist produced, self-printed publications, usually in limited numbe
 rs. The titles and themes are whatever their creator feels like and mo
 st pretty much have no rules!\n\n10 Far North Queensland zines, will b
 e launched on the night, offering an unprecedented opportunity for cul
 ture lovers and collectors to get their hands on some very limited-edi
 tion and unique publications. With titles such as Auxiliary (Cairns), 
 Mondo Pig Guts (Cairns), Obscure (Atherton), and Fragile (Cairns), the
 se print masterpieces will be sort after and snapped up fast!\n\nLocal
  bands ; mr dr and Me and My Animals will be trashing it up with their
  mayhem inspired sounds and Green Ant Cantina will be doing their than
 g with the licensed bar.\n\nUnlike most Upholstery shows, Gutter Trash
  will be on display for 2 weeks at Crate 59, allowing viewers the chan
 ce to come back, have a coffe at ‘Billy’s Coffee’ and check out 
 the accompanying exhibition and purchase any zines they missed!\n\nMan
