Event Description

The Chicago Zine Fest is an independent event creating an outlet for small press and independent publishers to showcase their work. Our goal is to make DIY zine-making accessible, highlight the talents of self-published artists, and give independent artists a chance to interact, and swap skills through tabling, community events, and workshops.

Chicago Zine Fest 2014 will take place March 14 & 15. Below are some general details for what we have in the works. More info will be added once we nail down all of the details!

Regarding the zine exhibition on Saturday, we’ll be returning again to the beautiful Conaway Center at Columbia College (1104 S. Wabash). And don’t forget — all events during CZF weekend are FREE and open to the public!

Friday, March 14th
- An early Friday afternoon panel (time TBA!) entitled In it for the Long Haul: A Discussion on Longevity in Zines with Cindy Crabb (Doris), Tomas Moniz (Rad Dad), and Alex Wrekk (Brainscan). Moderated by Quimby’s Bookstore’s own Liz Mason (Caboose)!
-A youth reading featuring awesome kids ages 18 & younger
-An exhibitor reading featuring some of your favorite zinesters
- A fun Friday night event!

Saturday, March 15th
- Exhibition!!! Trade zines, buy zines, meet zinesters and organizations!
- Workshops, reading room, & a kids zine table!

In the meantime, join our mailing list or help promote the fest!
