a place for zinesters - writers and readers
The ClapTrap Zine Collective are holding a zine fair in Bradford this June and would like to invite you to get involved!
Bradford Zine Fayre 2010 will be held on Sunday 20th June at Impressions Gallery, Centenary Square, Bradford (www.impressionsgallery.com). Evening events will be going down at the 1in12 Club, Albion Street, Bradford (www.1in12.com)(events at the 1in12 are for members and guests)
And YOU are extra specially invited!
We decided to move to Impressions partly because they are nice, but mainly because it is smack bang in the middle of Bradford (just opposite the town hall and Interchange), with big lovely studio room overlooking the square and has proper disabled access.
Thus, we have space on the day for a large number of stalls, and, like last year, it's free to have a stall. However, we anticipate that there will be high demand for them, so please book one early to avoid any tears at bedtime!
All stalls welcome of course, but last year we had a particular focus on the more DIY, anarcho and feminist Zines, which is a trend we are happy to replicate.
We'll be doing workshops and readings too, so please get in touch with ideas for that.
There will be cheap grub for dinner provided by The Treehouse and 1in12 Peasants Collective, a chance to contribute to and peruse the incredible Northern Indymedia Online Zine Library, plus an extra special unveiling of a proper Arabic Printing Press up at the club for all to admire and have a go on. Lots of other exciting bits and bobs in the pipeline, culminating in a gig at the 1in12 for the evening. We'll be kicking off the Fayre at Noon, going on till 5pm, breaking for food, then partying till the wee hours. The last Zine Fayre was a really wonderful do, as was our recent Anarchist Bookfair, and there is a real appetite for Zines up here at the moment, all that's missing is you!
Please get in touch with stall bookings and workshops ideas- including contact details and a bit of blurb, as soon as you can!
Love and excitement,
