a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Let's kick off ValenZine's Week with the 3rd AmaZine Day! This AmaZine Day is ValenZine themed and will end with a love-themed zine reading at the IPRC!
AmaZine Day is a quarterly small press and zine fest taking place three times a year in the IPRC's expanded space and once as the Portland Zine Symposium!
Starting at 2pm and going until 6pm on February 9th, AmaZine Day is a new small press and mini zine fest taking place three times a year in the IPRC's expanded space! Celebrate zines and community with the PZS organizers at this farmer's market-like event. Our in organizing this event is to take the edge off of waiting all year for PZS, especially since it keeps filling up each year!
For our third AmaZine Day, we present the addition of a single-sheet zine workshop and a special reading!
3pm Workshop: Make a ValenZine! Check out this free workshop and learn how to make a single-sheet zine to express your love for someone special...
5pm Reading: Love and anti-love readings by Gabby Holden, Liz Moyer, Emily Kendal Frey, and more.
The event is FREE to attend. We will be serving beer from Ninkasi and hot apple cider. For snacks, we will be having a bake-sale, all funds going directly to IPRC and PZS!
Check out this video of the first AmaZine Day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zWSf8koP68U (we're working on making a shorter version, too).
In addition to zines, we'll also have live music, food, beer provided by Ninkasi, sodas and pizza from Hot Lips, and yetis.
